OMG! I can't wait to see what new knits we get from HP DH Part 1! I'm working on a POA scarf in Gryffindor colors. Will probably wear that along with my Hermione bobble hat and mittens (also from POA) my mom knit me a while back. I hope we get some neat stuff! So excited yet sad at the same time.

So earlier today I decided to knit myself a poa style hufflepuff scarf in order to teach myself how to knit. I know how to garter stitch and that's about it. Yes I know I am insane. i've just knitted a PoA-style slytherin scarf and i'd like it a lot more if it wasn't so thick!!!!! >_< i live in florida and even if i lived in freaking Chicago it'd be too thick. i used Unger Utopia from Patternworks in Forest Green and Soft Grey and the yarn says worsted weight but i think it's borderline heavy worsted. lovely yarn. just thicker ( Read more... )

Last autumn I posted here asking for suggestions regarding UK yarn suppliers, to make a PoA film Ravenclaw scarf. In the end, I decided on King Cole merino superwash wool. My first ever finished object! A Gryffindor scarf knitted from the atypically pattern in the SS/CoS style. I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice yarn in Brick and Honey which is 100% acrylic.
